Self-inflicted

The anti-hero. The gossip’s smear. The bottle of ills. The fake world of pills. The vampire craze. Delinquent days. The scandal in print. And scarcely a hint. Of right living. Of hope giving.

In traffic one day

I got behind a curious

Pick-up truck.

Spikes on the hubs

Skull and cross-bones window

Howling midnight wolves detail

Nude mudguards

Bumper sticker about a bitch

Sick text on the plates.

Bull’s package hanging from hitch.

A real message of pain

Of hate, of neglect.

Totally missing the toughness

Boasted.

Too quickly yanked

From Mother’s breast.

Milk of love

And real courage

Sadly missing.
