Home Sick

Is it too much to ask,

To want to go home?

With every new task completed,

To feel so alone?

The more we speak,

The further away throne.

What appears to be near,

To the eyes

Are contradictions grown more severe

Some listen

Some hear

Some here

And do not listen

Never been so well accompanied

And so confused

Alone…

Is it too much to wish,

To want to go home?

Sometimes pouncing

Self righteous and justified

In one’s own mind

And the lessons pour forth

Geysers of chastening

That mystify

And pride bows out

Bows down

Brought low

Humbled and broken

But is it still too much to ask,

An answer..?

To these things,

So afraid to be asked.

Which a wretched man

Has spoken

Is it too much to ask,

To want to go home?
