Saturation Point

Spoke to the rain as a whole

Not to each individual drop

Wrestled with my mind

Until saturated in mud

Losing footing

Praying for the rain to stop

What had been steady

Became a torrent

Raising gaze to the Heavens

The flood blurring eyes

Ceased hostilities for a time

And when the deluge subsided

Feet remained soiled

Though all else had been cleansed

What of the conflict

No where to be seen?

And what friend is this?

That now washes my feet

Saturation Point II

Spoke to the rain

Not to each individual drop streaming by

But as a whole

That collects and pools

Wrestled with contradictions in minds’ eyes

Until saturated in mud

Losing footing

Praying for the rain to stop

What had been steady, almost predictable

Became a torrent

Complacency gazing to the Heavens

The flood blurring vision

Ceased hostilities for a time

And when the deluge subsided

Feet were soiled

Though all else had been cleansed

What of the conflicts?

Now nowhere to be seen,

Through new lens

The silence deafening

And what friend is this

come to call

That now humbly,

tearfully,

foot washes?

Re-edits, revises, renews…

As many times as needed

Spirit Willing

Vessels taking on water

And listing

All…

Already Written

And far…

from sinking

clouds
